All These High Horses
Acoustic Instruments shine on Paul M. Grove's new album. Piano; acoustic 6 string, 12 string, and classical guitars; mandolin; dulcimer; melodica; and more are featured here, moving air like only acoustic instruments can do.
The album's diverse sounds include a voracious sea-shanty singalong, a meditative 12-string guitar solo, a lullaby, and even a lament. And together they emerge as a Whole, an album that becomes one.
Kick back and take a listen to "All These High Horses"; each song stands alone and together form an album that contains a singular vision. Thank you for listening.

Some notes on the songs of "All These High Horses".
Pandere- Latin meaning 'to spread'. To me, this song opens up, like to a plain, or spreading arms.
Shepherds Lullaby- This feels ancient but universal, celebrating the mystery of sleep.
Lament For This Day- The feeling of sadness I felt on a certain election day in the recent past.
Memory of Outlived Sorrow- Something adults have that children do not. A hungry baby cries because they might NEVER be fed again; a love-struck young teen feels like their heart will NEVER heal. As adults, we have dealt with this before, have outlived it, been affected by it, but lived through it.
Windigo- For my wife because I won!
Wayward Young Whale- Lead vocals by Derek Bodkin, Dave Grove, and me. Dave and I wrote the lyrics together. We all sang backgrounds with Greg Abelar and Katie McKenry-Grove. I played the instruments with Derek adding some banjo and his fantastic whistling.
