Bloviator 1: Dafunk

Time to put your feet to the floor and groove with the fishes. The first of the three-album Bloviator series, "Dafunk" explores the deep grooves of instrumental enchantment oozing from Paul M. Grove's Montana studio.

Powa Play
Yegg_Head

Strut and swagger, sashay and parade your inner swank; just MOVE something! It's alive and kicking, right here. Check it.

Special thanks to Joel Steven for his inspired guitar wizardry on "Brave the Summer", and of course to Indigo for her snazzy artwork.

Notes on the Music of DaFunk:

1. Brave the Summer- Although that piano is the driver and the bass is a powerhouse, I just love Joel's inspired guitar playing here.

2. Wibaux Funk- Named after a small Montana town (and county) with a cool name.

3. Indian Carbunkle- Not to be confused with a carbuncle of course.  This is a more mellow groove but still has a great sway and an Indian feel with less of the focus on 1/4 tones.

4. Powa Play- Hear it here. Powa, man.

5. Funky Schwang- Nothing like a clavinet to get your funk on!

6. Didactic Pig- Learn from a pig and you'll get a pig POV. Be careful of who you listen to, friend.

7. Smite Me- Yeah, you can groove in 7/8 time. And if you don't like, well smite me.

8. Lulliful- My word, look it up.

9. Sunday Without You- Sundays have changed for me, from days I detested thanks to forced piety, to days I really enjoy. And always better with you. You know who you are.

10. Yegg Head- Groove in 6/8, the easiest poly-rhythm. Move it fast or slow it down and tap your dancing shoe on the 1 and 4. My fav part is the end organ solo!
