"Piano was, and is, my first love," says Paul of his recent collection of short piano pieces. "Sitting down at a piano is where I feel most comfortable musically, where I feel most able to express my musical self without reservation."

Welcome to Little Piano Sketches Book 1. This treasury offers the listener 10 short pieces, an intimate and introspective roam of the musical mind of its creator.

"Listening to these sketches will feel like a personal concert, like we are sitting together, chatting, and I occasionally sit at the piano and play a piece for you."

Amusing (The Benign Buccaneer) and soft  (Berceuse No. 1), peaceful (Leaves in the Walkway) and contemplative (Reflections on a Broken Mirror), these Sketches are sure to charm and delight,  leaving you feeling tranquil, ruminative, tickled and, hopefully, fulfilled.

Piano Notes:

1. Ambergris- A byproduct of sperm whales, this is a major ingredient in perfumes and very valuable. Not sure how the song relates. I love the major ending chord.

2. Leaves in the Walkway- Preview track above. This feels like an autumnal walk with the warm glow and smell of leaves all around.

3. An Agreeable Interruption- You'll hear the moment when the interruption happens. A little jarring but still a part of the Whole.

4. Fine Recollection- Just a joyous memory that surfaces to bring a smile and happy nostalgia.

5. Extemporize no. 1- An improvisation, just me sitting at the piano and letting it flow.

6. Grasping Time- Preview track above. Where did the time go? But not sad about it, just aware and engaged.

7. Berceuse no.1- Here is a lullaby for you. From the French bercer "to rock". Feel free to drift away...

8. The Benign Buccaneer- Who said pirates all had to be baddies? Maybe they just like the Jolly Roger and not being beholden to kings and queens.

9. Reflections in a Broken Mirror- A sad, reflecting note here. Gets a little happier at 1:11.

10. Evening Adjourned- And here I bid you adieu with a piano bon voyage.
